Privacy Policy

Family Tasks is made by Ovido AB, a company registered in Sweden (“we”, “us”). The app is built on one principle: your family’s data belongs to your family. This policy explains what that means in practice.

The short version

Information you enter in the app

Using Family Tasks, your family creates content such as: a family name, member names and profile choices (companion, colour), tasks, checklists and categories, the history of completed tasks, points, rewards and redemptions, reminder times, and app settings. All of this is provided by you and is only ever used to make the app work.

Where that information lives

Your data is stored locally on your device. If you turn on iCloud syncing or invite family members, it is also stored in your family’s private iCloud database (Apple’s CloudKit), which belongs to your Apple Account — not to us. Sharing with family members across Apple Accounts happens through Apple’s own sharing infrastructure, only with the people you explicitly invite.

We operate no servers of our own, and we have no technical ability to access your family’s data. Apple’s handling of iCloud data is governed by Apple’s privacy policy and your iCloud terms.

What we collect: nothing

The app contains no third-party analytics, advertising, or attribution SDKs, does not use the advertising identifier (IDFA), and does not track you across apps or websites. The app’s App Store privacy label reflects this.

Apple provides us with aggregated, anonymised App Store statistics (such as download counts). If you have opted in to sharing diagnostics with developers in your device settings, Apple may also forward anonymised crash reports; these contain technical information about the crash, never your family’s content.

Purchases

Family Tasks Premium is sold through Apple’s In-App Purchase system. Apple processes the payment; we never receive your payment details or your Apple Account identity. Your family’s premium status is stored as a simple flag inside your family’s own data.

Notifications

Task reminders are local notifications, scheduled and delivered entirely on your device — their content never leaves it. iCloud syncing may use Apple’s push infrastructure to wake the app; those signals carry no readable content from us.

If you email us

If you contact hello@familytasks.today (for example through the app’s feedback buttons, which open your own mail app), we receive your email address and whatever you write. We use it only to help you, and we delete the correspondence on request.

Children

Family Tasks is designed for families, set up and managed by parents. We collect no personal information from anyone — including children. Purchases can only be made from parent-facing screens and sit behind the device’s system authentication.

Keeping and deleting data

You are in control, directly in the app:

Security

On the device, your data is protected by iOS data protection. Data synced through iCloud is encrypted by Apple in transit and at rest.

Third parties

The only third party involved is Apple — as the provider of iCloud, the App Store, and notification delivery, under your own agreement with Apple. We do not sell, share, or transfer any data to anyone; we have none to sell.

Your rights

Under the GDPR and similar laws you have rights to access, correct, and erase personal data. Because we hold no personal data about you, you exercise these rights directly through the app’s own controls and your iCloud settings, as described above. For anything relating to email correspondence with us, write to us and we will resolve it promptly.

Changes to this policy

If the app’s privacy posture ever changes, we will update this page and its effective date before the change takes effect.
